"Quality"

"I’ve always had a special attachment to the word 'quality', both in a material and immaterial sense.
As regards the material aspect of quality, I consider it essential that the quality of the composition, design and finishing of a product is of the highest possible standard. I therefore need to touch and feel, in other words sense a product, and subject it to a detailed examination. I have to admit it sometimes looks like a behavioural deficiency! Unfortunately, it almost always turns out that high-quality, expertly and beautifully designed products carry a high price tag.

From an immaterial point of view, quality of life is particularly important to me. I fortunately discovered that it’s mostly just the simple, uncomplicated things that determine the quality of life. A good glass of wine in the sunshine, under an apple tree in the garden, by myself, with my wife, or with friends. Or watching a good movie, with the fire burning in the fireplace; so simple but so good……."
